BEINECHEM UVEINEHEM

is a non-profit organization Beynenu that was founded on October 7th. Since then, our volunteers have been working with hundreds of Israeli refugees, who have been displaced to Jerusalem from border areas of the country. Because of the war, these people have lost their loved ones and homes, their way of life and their sense of safety. We have become their support
We believe in a personal
and warm approach to each person
The name of the amuta is Beinechem Uveinehem. It means "Between you and them" in Hebrew and was born out of a peculiarity of Israeli bureaucracy. The social support system in our country is one of the best in the world. But people who need help often do not know how to get it. That's what happened to our refugees. In Hebrew, this is called "falling between the chairs" — that is, being "invisible" to the system. For example, elderly people who don't speak Hebrew and found themselves in a hotel without social workers who speak their native language, or children with special needs who fell out of the educational process
Who do we help?
In short, anyone who needs help.
Today, Beynenu has more than 300 beneficiaries
Often our beneficiaries are people who have lost their loved ones, their homes, their
way of life and their sense of security
because of the war
Some of them suffer from chronic illnesses (sometimes due to old age) that have been aggravated by the terrible stress. Others have seen their health deteriorate as a result
of the terrible circumstances
It is not uncommon for our refugees to lack the most basic items, from life-saving medications to toothbrushes or nappies. Many didn't even take their underwear with them
You:
Why can't they manage on their own?
Beynenu:
After evacuation, people find themselves in an unfamiliar city, separated from their families and outside the social support system adapted to them. Most of them are shy and afraid to approach government social services or large humanitarian organisations. This only makes their situation worse. This is where we come in - volunteers who know how to listen patiently, ask sensitive questions without offending, and help everyone with full dedication

Urgent taxi rides
Almost every day, we drive our refugees to medical appointments, emergency rooms and government offices. We also transport various items
Events and excursions

For many months in a row, Amuta's wards live in hotels in Jerusalem. We try to organize trips for them to lift their spirits and get them out into the fresh air

Rarely collected supplies

Needles and threads, games like chess and radios, headphones for children with autism, some "embarrassing" toiletries, etc.

Clothes, shoes and cosmetics

Refugees need new clothes to wear, home and outdoor shoes, and cosmetics for body and face

Letters from Jerusalem
Read the word of those Israeli refugees, who have been displaced
to Jerusalem from border areas of the country. They are eager to be heard

socially disadvantaged categories.

→ There are days when many of our clients
are going through life-threatening problems at the same time.
We need to act quickly and volunteer a lot.
